چکیده

This study was conducted to detect the prevalence of Metallo-Beta-Lactamases (MBLs) and Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) in bacterial isolates from clinical community settings two communities Delta State, Nigeria. Eighty four obtained blood, urine, wound stool patients subjects were analyzed identified by standard microbiological methods. Carbapenemase detection carried out using modified Hodge test. EDTA-disc synergy test used todetect MBLs production 26.2% isolates. ESBLs determined double disc (DDST) detected 36.7% Escherichia coli, 37.5% Pseudomonas aeruginosa 75% Klebsiella pneumoniae. Co-production MBL ESBL observed 31.8% The 2 major troubling findings. first is co-production both hospitalized healthy children. Second, antibiotic resistantbacteria may be able persist free high selective pressure pervading settings. There therefore need for increased surveillance.

[Extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) producing bacteria].

TEM- or SHV-type extended-spectrum beta-lactamases(ESBLs) are of clinical concern in Europe and the United States, whereas bacterial strains producing such types of ESBLs had not been reported in Japan for many years. Toho-1, a different type class A ESBL, has been reported in 1995, in which any prototypical enzyme has not been identified so far. At present Toho-1 is the major ESBL in Japan, ho...

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern and the Prevalence of Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) in Urinary Isolates of Klebsiella Pneumoniae

Abstract Background and Objective: Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic nosocomial pathogen causing a variety of infections including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, septicemia, wound infections and infections in the intensive care units. Since the ESBL producing Klebsiella pneumoniae strains are increasingly causing urinary tract infections, we aim to assess antibiotic resistance pat...

Bacteria Producing Extended Spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) in Hospitalized Patients: Prevalence, Antimicrobial Resistance Pattern and its Main Determinants

Background and Objective: There is a growing concern regarding the lack of new antibiotics, especially for multidrug-resistant bacteria that produce Extended Spectrum β-Lactamases (ESBLs). The present study aims to assess the prevalence of bacteria producing ESBLs, their antimicrobial resistance pattern, and its main determinants among hospitalized patients.Method...

Prevalence and molecular characterization of Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) producing Escherichia Coli and Klebsiella Pneumoniae.

UNLABELLED The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of ESBL-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae as well as genes encoding ESBLs. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 1207 non-repeat isolates of E. coli and K. pneumoniae were obtained from urine, tracheal aspirate, wound swab and blood from patients hospitalized at the University Clinics in Skopje. ESBL set and E-test ...

qnr Prevalence in Extended Spectrum Beta-lactamases (ESBLs) and None- ESBLs Producing Escherichia coli Isolated from Urinary Tract Infections in Central of Iran

Objective(s) Extensive use of quinolones has been associated with raising level of resistance. In the current, we focused on assessing the prevalence of Escherichia coli resistance to quinolones and frequency of qnrA, qnrB and qnrS in non ESBLs (extended spectrum beta-lactamases) and ESBLs producing E. coli with blaSHV and blaTEM. Materials and Methods One hundred and fifty E. coli isolates ...
